About Us

In 1974, God led Dr. Robert Kirkland to establish FaithWay Baptist Church. Under Dr. Kirkland’s leadership, a small group of people met for the first services of the church in the E.A Fairman Public School in Whitby, Ontario. God began to bless FaithWay and enabled them to move to their present location in 1981. God also began working in Pastor Kirkland’s heart about establishing a Bible College. In 1983, Dr. Kirkland and Dr. James Phillips established FaithWay Baptist College of Canada.

Since that time FaithWay has seen many people trust Christ as their Saviour and grow in Him. The College has seen many fine young people graduate, and many have planted churches, taught in Christian schools, and served in other various ministries here in Canada, and all around the world.

FaithWay is known throughout the Durham region for its community outreach. For thirty-five years we have operated a bus ministry which brings boys and girls to Sunday School at the church. A vibrant missions program also sets the church apart. God has used the faith-based giving of the people of FaithWay Baptist Church to enable them to currently support 199 missionary families and ministries all around the world.

In the last thirty-five years, God has enabled the church to expand their campus numerous times to now include FaithWay Baptist Bible College, FaithWay Baptist School, a Sunday school bus shop, and a completely restructured parking lot on their 6-acre campus.

It is truly amazing to see what God has done in the last thirty-five years. To God be the glory, great things He has done!
